About Clausen Communications
As a government relations specialist for nearly 15 years, Lisa Clausen’s strong analytical, writing and editing skills helped create successful inter-jurisdictional partnerships in the regional transit and transportation policy and planning arenas. Her expertise supported the elected officials who negotiated the creation of the three-county Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) and significant updates of King County Metro plans.
Lisa’s understanding of effective communication helped her jurisdiction to secure millions of dollars in state and regional funding for capital projects. Her skills also played a key role in the adoption by the U.S. Congress of legislation designed to assist communities affected by large airports.
Lisa Clausen obtained a Master of Public Administration and a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington, Seattle. She is a member of the Association for Women in Communications, Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and the Association of Washington Cities.
Prior to her career in local government, Lisa worked as a radio journalist covering Seattle and King County governments.
Lisa founded Clausen Communications to assist clients who understand that the right words – through good writing and editing – make a difference. Her clients to date have included a global non-profit, a large county agency, a smaller county, a small city, a Cloud ERP software firm, and an author.
